Pre
Restoration Checklist
| This
is the subject vehicle, a 1969 Cabriolet. Aside from looking a
little tired, the car is in overall good condition. The original
paint is still present throughout most of the car, which is L10009
Yukon yellow. |
 |
| Here's
another view of our pride and joy. Notice the original license
plate, it can use some sprucing up as well! |
 |
| Photographs
are the best way to remember "what goes where", when
reassembly starts. As you can see, there is an awful lot going
on underneath this hood. Can you imagine having to remember where
all of the bits and pieces go without a reference piece? |
 |
| Here's
a close-up of the fuse box/fresh air box assembly. Be sure to
label all of the wire connections for future reference. |
 |
| Just
some more notes with regards to attention to detail. Notice all
of the hoses and how they route through the trunk area.
|
 |
|
Just
look at all of the chaos! This photograph actually holds more
attention to detail than at first glance. Notice the black circles
on the dashboard, near the middle if the image? This is a sealing
compound for dash grill. After your car is painted, this area
will be spic and span, with no remnants of this material left
behind. It is images like this that will help you remember all
of the fine details.

| What
restoration would be complete without referencing the engine.
She's about as stock as they come, with the
exception of the Bosch
blue coil! |
