FAN HUB 1968-1979 BUG Keeping air-cooled engines “cool” is made possible through many moving parts. The one part that bridges your generator/alternator shaft to the fan is called the “fan hub”. Volkswagen superseded the design of this hub in February of 1968, by simplifying the early 2-piece design into a 1-piece version.
